Celebrations for Sam after passing his CompTIA N+ certification

At Lucid Systems, we are keen to ensure that our team of expert IT engineers can continually update their skills and expertise. We are thrilled that support engineer Sam Hicks has successfully passed his CompTIA Network + certification.
Sam joined us back in 2017 as an apprentice and is responsible for maintaining our support ticket log. Over the last twelve months, Sam has been working hard to improve his knowledge and understanding of IT issues, with a key focus upon designing and implementing network infrastructures. With his new knowledge, Sam recently undertook the CompTIA Network + exam, which we are delighted to say that he passed.
CompTIA is an internationally recognised certification. Companies that trust the qualification include Canon, Dell, Apple, HP, and Intel. The training is designed to enable IT engineers to learn more about skills such as networking, security, IT infrastructure, troubleshooting, and network operations.
To achieve certification, Sam had to pass an exam that incorporated up to 90 questions. His certification will last for three years, during which time he can continue to update his knowledge and skills with further training and development.
Speaking of his certification, Sam says: “It took a year of training, but the course has helped me when I’m working with our clients. The learning has helped improve my knowledge and it is helpful because much of the theory does come up in our day-to-day work. This means that I can rely on my own knowledge more rather than asking other members of the team for their input.”
“There’s much more that I want to learn, and I’d like to focus on more specific areas to build on my foundation knowledge. Ultimately, I’d love to become a certified Microsoft Engineer.”

Since Sam began his apprenticeship with us, he is always looking to learn more, and we are thrilled for him that he passed his CompTIA Network + certification. It is a big achievement, and we are proud of the way that he is pushing himself to become the best support engineer that he can be.”
