Global outage causing significant technical issues

By now, we’re sure you’re all aware of the global Microsoft outage that is causing significant technical issues around the world this morning.

Right now, the cause of the problem is still unknown.

There is also a separate global issue whereby Crowdstrike (an antivirus software) issued an update which has gone wrong. This update is bricking Windows devices, causing the so-called “blue screen of death” on PCs.

There is a workaround available – which has been issued by Crowdstrike if you’ve been affected by this issue.

The good news is that none of our clients use the Crowdstrike cybersecurity software. However, it is still causing significant issues around the world.

We’re working on fixes as quickly as we can – but you may find that throughout the day you experience issues with various Microsoft 365 apps and services.

Known problems so far include –

  • PowerBI – Services may be in read-only mode
  • Microsoft Fabric – Services may be in read-only mode
  • Microsoft Teams – Users may be unable to use Teams functions including presence, group chats and user registration
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Centre – Intermittant access to the admin centre, and actions may be delayed
  • MS Purview – There is a delay in any events processed via MC Purview

Microsoft is working on the fixes for its suite of products as quickly as possible, and we are aware of the issues that many of you are facing.

We are doing everything we can to get your business up and running with minimal disruption.
