Simon Ash

Support Engineer

Simon Ash is a support engineer at Lucid Systems

Simon Ash has more than 25 years’ experience as a support engineer. Having always been interested in computers from a young age, it was no surprise when he decided to join the IT profession.

Simon’s role at Lucid Systems is to focus upon enabling businesses to revolve their computer back-up issues. We know how important it is for our clients to have access to all data and he works hard to ensure that all clients are confident that their data is backed up and held securely. He takes a proactive approach and is often found visiting clients on their premises to ensure that everything is working as efficiently as it should be.

Although he’s been at the heart of our team since 2011, Simon has never lost his passion for learning and development. He says one of the best things about working as a computer engineer is the fact that you can continually learn new skills and develop new capabilities thanks to technological advances. Simon is particularly interested in Intel Vaunt and believes that augmented reality (AR) smart glasses could be the most exciting advancement in technology over the past ten years.

As a long-term employee, Simon welcomes the fact that no day is ever the same within the Lucid Systems team. He believes that it’s great to still be able to learn something new every day and that the team manages to tread the difficult balance of working incredibly hard whilst still having fun.

In his spare time, Simon has some varied interests – he lists ufology, cryptozoology, & reading as his main hobbies.
