Service Manager Jamie Pope always knew he wanted to be involved in IT support services; after all, it was something that his father had always done. So, after finishing his exams, Jamie started an IT apprenticeship, which gave him the qualifications as well as practical experience.
Jamie has been with Lucid Systems since 2013, and as part of his role, he is responsible for organising engineer timings, holding regular meetings with staff, and managing our helpdesk function. He is adept at knowing what the most suitable solution is for clients and he is particularly skilled when it comes to customer services. He says that one of his favourite parts of his job is working closely with clients to ensure that they feel happy and supported.
Jamie describes working at Lucid Systems as both “fast-paced” and “enjoyable”. He believes that the continuous growth of the company makes it an incredibly exciting place to work. Jamie is also excited by how quickly technology is changing and, in his opinion, the most exciting development in IT over the past ten years has to be the introduction of virtual reality. As a keen gamer, we can certainly see why he’s excited to see how it will continue to evolve.
Outside of work, Jamie is a big football fan – he supports Arsenal FC and he can also be found regularly playing Airsoft, a competitive team shooting sport similar to paintball. He’s also shown a commitment to the local community and has supported the Night Shelter.
