Lucid Hosted Exchange Service
Since Microsoft’s withdrawal of reduced cost Exchange Server software to small businesses under the SBS product, running
an exchange server in-house has become too expensive. The alternative offered by Microsoft is its Office 365 product
where small businesses rent mailboxes from Microsoft direct. While this is a valid solution, it lacks the personal
and close relationship and service that SMEs require from their IT supplier. Lucid Systems’ solution to this was
to build its own Hosted Exchange solution that would offer all the benefits and resilience of a Hosted Exchange server
solution while still offering the personal support services that small businesses require.
Our Hosted Exchange service consists of fault resilient servers spread over two data centres with automated fail-over to
either data centre in order to ensure that the service is delivered with the minimum of downtime.
All servers are located in secure data centre locations with physical access only given to authorised engineers. All
connectivity to your mailbox resources are encrypted using 256bit AES encryption over TLS.
All data contained within your mailbox is replicated in real time to a second data centre.
In the event of a single server failure or a data centre connective failure, your
email client whether it be Outlook, OWA or smartphone will automatically fail-over
to the alternate data centre to ensure continuation of service. In addition
to this, all servers are backed up every hour using our hosted backup solution.
